Celebrity Autographs Made As Investments

Celebrity autographs can be great investments, if you know how to buy them. Here are some pointers.

Spotting fake autographs. Establishing authenticity can be a huge problem when dealing with celebrity autographs, especially because many celebrities change their signatures frequently.

The best protection is still common sense – if the deal is too good to be true, it probably is. Check for the spelling. Many fakes spell the names of celebrities incorrectly – Cate Blanchett fakes are sometimes spelled ‘Kate Blanchett,’ for example. Also check the material. Do not expect a supposedly original Bruce lee autograph on laser-printed pictures to be real, because Bruce did not live long enough to see laser printers.

Note that there are such things as ‘secretarials,’ or autographs signed and mailed by celebrities’ assistants for them. These kinds of autographs are worthless – do not bother to invest in them.

Some celebrities keep track of the signatures they give out over time. They keep a list of people who have asked for autographs for authentication purposes. The famous boxer George Foreman, for example, keeps a record of the names and addresses of each individual who writes him asking for an autograph. He says he does this to know if the request comes from a genuine fan, or from a dealer who only wants more autographs to put up for sale.

Understanding value. Not all celebrity autographs will appreciate in value. If you are a serious collector and would like to make money from your autographs, make sure to buy only those with high market potential. Autographs from notorious celebrities, celebrities who died tragically at a young age, and celebrities with controversial backgrounds are very attractive investments for collectors. For example, the autographs of James Dean and Marilyn Monroe, who not only died young but also led outrageous lifestyles, are much-coveted. Invest in such pieces, and you will surely make a profit.

News And Celebrity Gossips On Television And Media

People know more about Paris Hilton, than they do President Bush. Celebrities are always in the news for a variety of different reasons. They might be getting drunk, and making a fool out of themselves (Mel Gibson), or getting a divorce (Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro), or almost dropping their baby in the street (Britney Spears). Whatever they are doing, we are all tuned to watch, and listen to the celebrity gossip.

Most of the time the only celebrity gossip that appears on television concerns something bad that has happened, or some mistake a celebrity has made. The public likes to watch figures in the spotlight fall on their face, because it brings them back down to earth with the rest of us. Also it seems that we like to give air time to celebrities so they can complain about the way the government is being run. We can setup a large forum to let celebrities speak about how the war in Iraq is wrong, but we can not take five minutes to tell the soldiers that are fighting there how much we appreciate them for what they are doing. I would like to help change the view about celebrities and write about some celebrity gossip of a different flavor.

Towards the beginning of the war in Iraq, Densel Washington made a trip to a hospital in Fort Sam Houston, Texas to see some of the injured soldiers. While he was there he saw that the hospital was crowded and the doctors there needed more supplies. Densel told the soldiers at the hospital that help would be on the way. About six months later, he gave a sizable donation to the Fisher House Foundation Inc., which helps families of hospitalized military personnel. I never heard any gossip about this on the celebrity news channels. The only time I heard about this great act of generosity was in an email from someone else that was trying to spread the good word. I think we would all feel a little bit better about celebrities if the celebrity gossip shows would try to report on more uplifting stories like this one.

It's all about happenings in the fashion world

Magazines are an attractive way in which information is authored. It lets us learn so much about happenings in the fashion world, world of cinemas, world of art and music, world portraying celebrities and personalities, in our city, in our country, or in the world. Some magazines are only loved for their gossip. Since people are basically inquisitive by nature, they want to know constantly what's happening in other peoples' lives and the world. People love to dig into the lives and styles of celebrities and personalities, heroes and heroines, pop stars and models. Who does not want to know about them? All these little juicy tit bits are found in these magazines, which find big sales as a result. You get all the latest gossip when you read celebrity magazines.

Celebrity magazines are full of amazing stuff. People are sometimes more interested in the life of Sanjay Dutt or Britney Spears, rather than their own. Why? Because it is so much more exciting and thrilling than their own quiet and drab lives. Sometimes, it is sad that people try to judge celebrities on false rumors that have been written about them. At the same time, there are also others who sympathize with their lives and situations. This may increase their fan count by generating publicity. Gossip columns can work both ways. Either they can be detrimental to their popularity chart, or they can be beneficial.

Another reason why they are so pursued after by fans, is that celebrities are not easily reachable otherwise. They live in the world of glamour and glitz, where we cannot touch or see them. They are like stars, so high up, and so distant. So, we need to satisfy ourselves with reading magazines about them. Another reason for reading this gossip is to keep an update with the latest happenings, like who is marrying whom, and who is in line for divorce. If it were not for these magazines, where would we get this kind of information? What would be the cost of it? It is such a small price to pay for all that first hand secret and private information. These magazines are undoubtedly valuable, and so easily available.

Celebrity lives are so closeted, except for a few bold ones. Kudos to these journalists, who go sniffing for all kinds of information, to feed us with these gossips and tit bit columns. When we read, we need to be careful. I know we can never really be sure about these matters. Some magazines are authentic and do not believe in yellow journalism. So, you can actually believe what they say. I think, if you don't read, then start doing so. Soon you will realize how addictive these stories can be. When you are bored and feeling dull, these celebrity magazines can perk your senses up and make you sit up straight.

Celebrity Hairstyles For More Appeal

Want a little A-list inspiration for a sexy new look? Here's how celebrities are wearing their bob hairstyle!

Paris Hilton's Graduated Bob
Paris has swapped her extensions for a sweet graduated bob. This 'do has texture, gloss and sex appeal. We've always preferred Paris with shorter hair, not only does it give her a far more sophisticated look, it's also more flattering for her face shape. This graduated cut side swept bangs is hugely wearable and by sticking with her platinum blonde block color, Paris ensures she is bang on-trend. How to style it: Shape with a dryer and a vent brush, using flat iron to enhance the key sections.

Katie Holmes' Bob
The lovely Katie Holmes looks oh-so cool, calm and in control with her classic bob cut. It is the classic bob, but it is updated with a fringy perimeter. It has a very sophisticated look yet can be very casual too. It can be worn in a smooth classic style or flipped out for fun. The sides can be worn forward, framing the face or tucked behind one or both ears.

Victoria "Posh" Beckham's Pob
Sharp, funky and fresh. The cut accentuates the angle of her jaw line while the punchy platinum hue suits her skin tone. This sexy blonde crop with strands tucked behind the ear is the epitome of cool. Victoria Beckham, known for her mega-popular Pob, pretties up her look with lengthy fringe and surface layering through the crown. Petite features or a long neckline help make this style easy to wear.

Rihanna' s Inverted Bob
Singer Rihanna is just as famous as her trendy bob as she is for her music. It's an elegant cut that's sharp, clean and sophisticated.

Eva Longoria's Long Bob
If you'd like a bob but want enough length so you can pull hair back, consider Eva's hairstyle. It has less layers, so the shape is denser, fuller. To vary it, try moving the part, but beware of the precise center part because it makes full face look wider. This cut's perfect for you if your hair is fine and straight; if it's too thick it will get too bushy. Unless your face is long and narrow, this one could work for you.

Jenny McCarthy's Asymmetrical Bob
Her sleek, asymmetrical style is even shorter and more angled these days. Styled from a short, high side part, it's blown-out with a paddle brush, then flat-ironed to further smooth the hair shaft.

Celebrities From the Biggest Cities In The World

London is one of the world's greatest cities filled with celebrities from all areas of the entertainment and sporting worlds, and it's easy to find them if you know where to look. Apart from on the streets where most celebrities who don't draw attention to themselves find it easy to go largely unnoticed, there are many regular haunts at which you can spot the rich and famous.

Probably the first place in London where most people and a small army of paparazzi go to spot A-list celebrities is the Ivy restaurant. Regularly frequented by big-name celebs such as Elton John, David Bowie and Tom Cruise, the Ivy offers extremely expensive and comfortable fare, in 1920s decor with stained glass windows. But, it is neither the quality of food or the restaurant's surrounding's that attract the majority of diners, but the chance that they will get to rub shoulders with some of the world's top celebrities. You may get into this restaurant but you will have to book at least six months in advance!

Another place to spot celebs is the Groucho, but only outside; there is little chance of admission to this establishment as it is a private club. It was named after a quip made by the great movie legend Groucho Marx, who famously once said: "I don't want to join a club that would have me as a member!" Situated in the heart of Soho it was originally a refuge for members of the publishing profession, but membership was extended to include proponents of the creative arts and media. The mysterious membership committee ensures that entry to the club is fiercely protected and the initiation ceremony for new entrants to the club is allegedly extremely hair-raising! Celebrity regulars at Groucho's include actors Robert Downey Jr. and Sadie Frost, and model Kate Moss.

Although frequented by celebrities and the rich and famous for many years Lorenzo's in Knightsbridge was catapulted into the public eye in the 1990s when it was identified as one of Princess Diana's favourite haunts. Offering mainly straight-forward Italian cuisine, the restaurant still proves a magnet for celebrities, and frequent visitors include Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Naomi Campbell amongst others. The tinted windows provide an element of privacy to the always packed restaurant. Its popularity in part is due to the abundance of 5 star hotels in Knightsbridge at which the rich and famous regularly stay when in London. Again, if you want to dine at this celebrity restaurant make you sure you book well in advance!

Today's love affair with celebrity culture means that celebrity spotting continues to be high on many people's lists of past-times, and there is no better place in the UK to see the stars in the flesh than in the mighty capital - London.
